This feature was officially added in KitKat 4.4 but similar functionality is already present in custom ROMs. I used Immersive Mode on Android before it was even called that. A swipe from the top or bottom edge will bring it back for a few seconds. So once you reboot, you will see that Immerse Me is enabled and whatever app you are using now goes full screen hiding the status bar and navigation buttons. Xposed modules require a reboot to be fully installed.

knock Install and it will appear in Module list. Swipe to Version page and download the latest version. To get started, open it download in Xposed Installer and search for it Immerse Me. So once you enable it, it will run until you deactivate the mod. Immerse Me is a free Xposed module that does the same thing as the GMD immersive app, but doesn’t have any triggers or options. The phone will reboot and you will have the Xposed Framework installed. Run the application and then go to Framework and download that too. As long as you are rooted and running a compatible ROM/stock ROM, go to the Xposed Installer website and download it.

If you are rooted you probably know about the Xposed Framework which allows you to install mods as apk application. Do it if you really can’t stand looking at the red marker all the time. You can disable it or make it transparent but for that you have to pay around $3 to upgrade Pro. GMD is the only app on this list that displays a visual trigger to activate Immersive Mode.
